Expert Witness

As a Consultant I have been involved in dealing with Medico-Legal problems for the last 10 years either in providing expert reports or assessing clinical risk. I have attended the Medico-Legal Society and have been trained in report writing, giving evidence and acting as a single joint expert. I am a member of the Expert Witness Institute.

 

I have recently been commissioned to write a review article on Female Genital Mutilation and Cosmetic Gynaecology for the Medico-Legal Journal.

 

The balance of my expert reports are about two thirds Claimant and one third Defence.

 

My areas of expertise include: specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology which is related to my medical practice. I am a nationally recognised expert on hypertension in pregnancy (publication list) and on female genital mutilation.

 

My area of interest include:

  • Obstetrics and Obstetric Surgery.
  • Complications of pregnancy and childbirth
  • Female Genital mutilation.
  • Thrombosis and thrombophilia including recurrent miscarriage.
  • Gynaecology and gynaecological surgical problems.
  • Consent issues in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
