Mr Nicholas Morris is one of the leading Independent Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. As an NHS Consultant he was a pioneer of Women’s Health in North London and introduced a birthing pool, a baby bonding clinic and a clinic for women who had undergone female genital mutilation. In 2004, he was awarded the ODA’s prize for mentoring junior doctors.

 

Nicholas Morris qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1984, and undertook his initial training in Nottingham. He returned to London and as a junior doctor worked in the major London Teaching Hospitals.

 

He was awarded the WellBeing Training Fellowship in 1993 for his research on Hypertension in Pregnancy. He subsequently was appointed a Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cambridge University, where he started research into genetic mechanisms and high blood pressure in pregnancy.

 

He was appointed an NHS Consultant in 1996 at Central Middlesex Hospital and was a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College.  He has been an active researcher, and has been awarded grants from the British Heart Foundation and the Department of Health. He is widely published and is a popular speaker on the lecture circuit. He currently runs the Consultant Lecture programme at the Portland Hospital. He has published over 50 scientific papers relating to obstetric care and thrombosis risk in pregnancy.

 

Nicholas Morris was made a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1991, and received the Fellowship in 2007. He is also a Member of the Expert Witnesses Institute.

 

Nicholas Morris is now a fully private Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He consults at the Portland Hospital and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. He carries out his deliveries at the Portland Hospital and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.

 

Nicholas Morris was born into a Medical Family in North London. His entire family are doctors! His father was Norman Morris, the Obstetrician who pioneered a more humane approach to obstetric practice. He has followed in his father’s footsteps and is passionate about natural childbirth and birth without fear. He cannot guarantee you the delivery you want, but will try to give you the best delivery you will have.

 

Mr Morris is married to Veronica, a cosmetic dentist, and they have 2 school age children. Mr Morris enjoys playing tennis, the theatre and is a very poor dinghy sailor.
