About Mr Nicholas Morris

Nicholas Morris is one of the most experienced Gynaecologists and Gynaecological surgeons working in London. He qualified from St Mary's Hospital Medical School in 1984. He then trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at some of the leading Teaching hospitals in London. He was awarded the MRCOG in 1991.

In 1993, he was awarded the WellBeing Training Fellowship by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He was appointed a Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cambridge University, where he established research into the genetic mechanisms of high blood pressure in pregnancy. In 1995, he was awarded a British Heart Foundation grant to study hypertension in pregnancy.

Following this exciting period in Cambridge, he was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Central Middlesex Hospital, and Senior Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College in 1996.

  • In 1997, he established the first UK clinic for victims of female genital mutilation in the UK.

  • In 2003, he contributed to the updated 2003 FGM Act. In 2005, he set up in full time private practice.

  • In 2007, he was awarded the FRCOG (Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists).

  • In 2018, Nicholas established a Harley Street practice.

He has a large medico-legal practice and is called upon as an expert witness in both civil and criminal cases.

As a researcher, he has written over 50 peer-reviewed papers. He is a Fellow of the Medical Society of London, a member of the Chelsea Clinical Society, and the Medico-Legal Society. He is an active member of the Independent Doctors Federation. He was a founding partner in Sapien Care Group, an educational platform on medicine and society. In 2022, he became an elected member of the Independent Doctors Federation Educational Committee. He now is the Chair of the Independent Doctors Federation Medico Legal committee.
