The Science Behind EndoSure
Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory condition where endometrial tissue produces various inflammatory mediators, including the potent prostaglandins PGE2 and PGF-2α. These effect not only on the uterus but also the ovaries, and the pelvic organs.
The prostaglandins directly impact the small bowel, regardless of the location of the endometriosis, causing recognizable changes in the gut’s electrical signals. This is the basis for the EndoSure test. There is a characteristic abnormality in the electroviscerogram, which is unique to patients with endometriosis. EndoSure utilises sophisticated AI clinical decision support software to diagnose endometriosis based on these myo-electric signals.
A 40-minute recording of intestinal myo-electrical pulses are carried out using EndoSure after drinking a large glass of water is all that’s needed to establish the diagnosis. Non-invasive and accurate.
